Pebbles [ADOPTED APRIL 22] is a five year old, sable Cocker who has been spayed, microchipped, tested for heartworm and up to date on her shots. She is very friendly and came to us from a shelter in Illinois. She was matted to the skin and is one of the few Cockers who was in such poor condition that I could not save her coat. When her coat grows out, it will have black tips on her otherwise buff color.

She is thin and I would say was very neglected by her family who dumped her at the pound and said they were moving. She appears to be housetrained and is doing very well in rescue. She gets along well with other dogs and is not mourning for her former family at all. She acts very happy to be here. She is good for grooming although nipped at me once when I accidentally cut her with a scissor while trying to get her coat off. I don't blame her for nipping at me but will not place her in a home with small children because she did. She has a lack of pigment in her nose but the pigment may return with good nutrition, I guess we will see.
