Jasper [ADOPTED APRIL 27] is a 9 to 10 month old, black cocker who is neutered, heartworm negative and current on his shots. He came to us from a Wisconsin shelter where he had been surrendered by his family because he was now a full grown puppy who had never been trained. He is a big, show type Cocker who is typically active for his age. He has a wonderful temperament and we are evaluating him for housetraining trustworthiness. Because of his young age, we are requiring a fenced yard for him. We are also recommending a basic obedience class for him. He is good with other dogs. More info soon.

A Message from Jasper’s New Family: “I just wanted you all to know how happy we are with Jasper. We brought him home yesterday and he is settling in just fine. Since I lost my last Cocker 3 years ago (I had to have him put to sleep at the age of 13) there has been a very big hole left in my heart. The first time Jasper jumped up in my lap, curled up, and went to sleep yesterday, I felt the hole start to get a little smaller. He is very well behaved, although he did FINALLY chew his leash!! (Elaine did warn me!!) But for the most part, he is just the thing for us. He and Murphy, our Dalmatian, have some issues, but they are better too. Anyway - thanks to all!”
