Pepper [ADOPTED NOVEMBER 23] is a small, seven year old, black male Cocker who is neutered, heartworm negative and current on his shots. He came to us from a Chicago area shelter where he had been surrendered by his family in horrendous condition. God was watching out for him that day. He has since been groomed and treated for an eye infection. He has a wonderful temperament and we are evaluating him for housetraining trustworthiness. He is great with other dogs. We have recently discovered that this poor dog, who is as sweet as he can be, also suffers from grand mal seizures. We will be starting him on anti-seizure meds now to bring this problem under control. Phenobarbtol is not expensive medication but he will most likely need to be on a maintenance dose for the rest of his life. More info soon.
