Simba [ADOPTED JULY 18] is a buff colored male out of a shelter in Illinois. He was seized from his previous owner for neglect and cruelty. Upon picking him up from the shelter, the transport person took him directly to a veterinarian where he was sedated and had the softball sized mats of urine-soaked coat shaved off. The only hair remaining on him when they were done was a mane on the top of his head, so that is where his name came from. He looked like a small lion. He received treatment for a skin condition caused by the poor condition he was in and was then neutered. He is now healthy, up to date on all of his shots, heartworm tested and ready for a new start in life. He gets along well with other dogs and loves being a part of his foster family where he has other Cockers to play with. We believe he is between 5 and 6 years of age and is a beautiful light buff color now that his coat is growing back in. He will require a bit more work on his housetraining but has come a long way since being in his foster home for a month now.
