Sam [ADOPTED MAY 15] is a 4 year old male who was surrendered because his owner was remarrying and would now have a child who is allergic. Sam is a very sweet and loving boy who has a lot of energy. He loves to take lots of walks and to run, so a home with a fenced yard would be a plus. Sam is well socialized and has yet to meet a dog or person he didn't like. Sam is crate trained at night and does well with it as long as he is crated near people. He presently is fostered in a 2 dog home so he would do well in a single or 2 dog home. When he first came into foster care he had accidents in the house (his previous owner feels that this may have been due to the fact that her children failed to let him out.) However, now that he is on a regular schedule he rarely has accidents. When he came into foster care he was food protective. After working with him, his foster home feels that his food possession is primarily with 'people' food, when he gets ahold of it. However, he is doing better with this but will need a home that will continue to work on this. He does like to have people play with him with his toys but does rough house a bit so he would probably do better in a home with older children. He loves to be with people and play and loves attention.
