Is your home quiet, calm and relaxed? Let me introduce you to Java [ADOPTED SEPTEMBER 10] who is a 2 year old (DOB 3/31/04) brown Cocker with some white spots. He is current on vaccinations, heartworm negative, and neutered. Java knows how to sit for treats. Java came to rescue from a commercial breeding facility and although he was initially very scared, he has come out of his shell quite well. In new situations he can initially be very shy, but when in a familiar situation he is outgoing. Because of Java's shyness we would not recommend him for a home that frequently has a lot of visitors or small children. Recently Java felt his help was needed when his foster home put in a new kitchen sink and he frequently checked in on the progress and was never far away just in case there was a problem and his assistance was needed!
Java gets along well with other dogs and adores cats. He enjoys playing with the two Cockers in his foster home. Java's foster family loves him to pieces and would love to keep him but they feel that it would be a shame to keep this wonderful dog and deny someone the chance of knowing just how special he really is. Java's forever home will need to understand that while he will be shy initially their patience will be rewarded by all of the love that he has to give.
Update from Java's Foster Mom: Java was placed today after being in rescue for almost a year. In the year Java has been in rescue (and the 9 months he's been with us) he has come a long way. This is a dog that wouldn't look at you 9 months ago and didn't understand what toys were or how to deal with people. After a few months Java started to play, learned commands, listened well, and would look you in the eye. We love him and he loves us right back. He is a fantastic dog and found himself a fantastic home. He lives in the country and can happily watch birds from the many windows of his house and can play with the other dog and cat in his forever home.
Needless to say it was hard for us to leave him (there were tears shed) but we are so very happy that he has found a home that deserves such a wonderful dog like him. Congratulations Java, we love you!
