Billy [ADOPTED MARCH 18] is a one-year-old buff male who came to us from an inner city shelter where he came in as a stray. He is a happy puppy who loves to play with his new friend, Barron. He does not like to be crated and did bark a lot when he first came into rescue. He did settle down after he realized the barking did not do him any good. Billy does want to be in the same room as his human. He is using the doggie door in his foster home and seems to be pretty much housetrained. He initially did some marking but that is probably due to the fact that he was just neutered. He does well with the other dogs in his foster home although his play may be too much for an older dog.
Update from Billy's Foster Home on January 30: Billy is a young boy and still has a lot of puppy energy. He will need an experienced owner as he will take over the house if his owner does not set down rules and boundaries. I am taking him to obedience classes thru Teacher's Pet Training. This is a drop-in class that meets every other week. He can be possessive of his human and still needs a lot of work on that. He does know sit and can shake with both paws. He is a counter surfer and will take food from your plate if he can. He is housetrained and crate trained, however, he does not like being in the crate when you are home and he can't see you. He was initially very nervous in the car, but he is getting better. He likes playing with toys and balls and chewing on rawhides & nylabones.
