Matilda [ADOPTED MARCH 14] is a sweet 5-year-old female who came into the shelter as a neglect case. The neighbors spotted her wandering the alleys and eating garbage. She probably had not been groomed in years. It was actually necessary to use a box cutter to cut through the layers of mats before she could be clipped. Her hind legs were connected by mats and she had great difficulty walking. It was necessary to shave her down to bare skin. She spent most of the winter wearing a little coat in her foster home. She has now grown coat back and learned how to use her hind legs again. Her foster family has showered her with love and she has returned in kind. They report that if you scratch her under the chin she sings a little song. Matilda is housetrained and crate trained.
