Pixie [ADOPTED NOVEMBER 7] is a buff/white female who came to us from an inner city shelter. She is approximately one-year-old. When she came to rescue, we immediately noticed a slight limp. Upon taking x-rays we found that her hip joint was damaged. After consulting several veterinarians, it was decided that the best approach was to removed the head of her femur and let the resulting scar tissue support the joint. She had the surgery and is doing just fine. She is an active little gal who loves to go for walks or play in the yard. She enjoys chasing the cats in her foster home and doesn’t mind when they swat her. She can be a bit shy with new people. Pixie is working on her housetraining. She is doing quite well but will still have an accident from time to time.
