Cagney [Adopted 8/5/2012] is a red, 4 year old female that came to Shorewood from a breeder surrender down south, along with Lacey and Lydia. Lacey found her forever home last month. Cagney has come a long way from her early days where she did not understand the loving touch of a human, a kind voice, a soft bed, or the meaning of being a house pet. She is now chasing and treeing squirrels in her back yard, going to play dates at the local doggie day care and living life the way it was meant to be lived. Cagney is house and crate trained and loves going for walks with her foster sister in the neighborhood. She is starting to play a little bit with toys and once she realizes it is okay to do so she will enjoy having toys of her own.
Because of Cagney's history, we will require that she be adopted by a home that currently has at least one other canine in the home and a secure, above ground fence. She startles easily and will need a patient owner to let her feel at home so she can be the sweet girl she is. Cagney's favorite place to hide is under the bed, so keeping her out of the bedroom until she learns her safe place is her crate, is highly recommended.
