Ruby [ADOPTED AUGUST 30] is an active 2-year-old female with a beautiful natural tail and big brown eyes. If you love to run, walk, and play with a dog then this is the dog for you! Ruby loves to learn and soaks up knowledge like a sponge. Ruby recently began her second obedience class and she would LOVE to continue on the obedience path. She recently showed that she'd like to do agility as she loves to run through the tunnels and to the top of the platforms on the agility courses.
Ruby is housetrained, crate trained (she eats her food in her crate) and gets along well with other dogs and cats. She loves to play with stuffed toys, but needs to be watched as she will sometimes rip out the stuffing and squeaker. Ruby does have a fear of strangers and her foster family has spent a lot of time working with her on it and has seen marked improvement. Ruby's foster home will let her forever family know how to continue working on it with her and also how to help strangers approach her in a manner that isn't so frightening to her. It is not difficult. Because it is difficult for children to understand the proper way to greet a dog, we feel that a home that has children or has a lot of children visiting would not be a positive experience for Ruby.
Ruby is a very wonderful dog and her foster home will miss her terribly when she's adopted! Everyone who has met her loves her, including her obedience school teacher, who commented the first night of class "Ruby is a very, very smart girl." That sums her up perfectly!
