Ruger (male) and Kimber (female) are a bonded pair of chocolates that were given up because their owners lost their jobs due to the pandemic. They were littermates and are 7 years old.
They are diamonds in the rough. When they came into rescue, both had very bad ear and skin conditions, caused by neglect. After more than 5 months of constant care, they are showing great improvement, but will need continual care and monitoring.
Kimber's ears will need to be checked and possibly cleaned twice a week. Ruger's ears are better but should be checked at least once a week. He will need regular bathing with medicated shampoo at least twice a month. He has dry eye and will need to be on cyclosporine for the rest of his life.
Both pups are very loving, but lack basic training and manners. Ruger is very nosey and will sometimes pull things off tables and loves to steal anything leather, so shoes must be kept out of reach. They need a home with previous dog experience that will be willing to supervise and work with them and they will be your very loyal, loving companions.
