Poppy [Adopted October 2, 2013] is a 6 year old red 22lb female that came from a dog auction in the Midwest. Poppy has a cataract and no vision in her left eye, but that doesn't slow her down a bit. She lives with another cocker spaniel and a cat (whom she takes naps with) in her foster home. She is learning to trust people and be a good house dog. She is completely crate and house trained. She is beginning to play with toys and loves to run in the yard. Of course she is a little leery of strangers when she first meets them, but does not run and hide. She sits by her foster mother and loves to be petted and brushed. Poppy has a dog bed she sleeps on at night in the bedroom and does great in the crate during the day while her foster mother is at work. She walks better on a leash than her foster sister. She is play buddies with a cat in her foster home and wants to be wherever the action is in the house. As with most breeder rescues Poppy will need a patient owner to help her feel safe in her new home as she is cautious about all new noises until she understands where they are coming from. She would do best in a home with children over 12 years old, another dog to learn from, and a fenced in yard.
