Roger, (Adopted 12/29/13), is a 4-year-old black and brown cocker who is the sweetest, gentlest dog you will ever see. Surrendered by a kennel in distress and weighing 24.6 lbs., he is healthy, happy, and playful; yet becomes your favorite lap dog at a moment’s notice. Neighborhood children love him, as do all the adults he meets. His favorite activities are chewing knuckle bones, playing ball with his people, and sitting on laps. His playful attitude helps to lift spirits. He has become very interactive, often letting us know when he needs to go outside. He loves going on 2 - 3 walks a day up to an hour or more to help him relieve anxiety. He is fearful of new situations; however, learns to trust over a short time. He “sits, waits, heels, leaves ‘it’, and comes” when called in most circumstances. He is crate and house trained with people who understand his need for reminders when he is outside. He is good alone, but would enjoy another dog in the house for companionship while his people are away. He will make a great pet for a loving and patient family.
