Skylar [Adopted September 2017] is a 5 year old, red, female cocker who came to the rescue as a breeder surrender. While initially very shy and unsure of what to do, she has adapted to our home quickly, following our dogs around until she learned our routine. Over the past few weeks, we have seen her become more aware of her surroundings - talking to the animals on TV, tracking the squirrels and chipmunks in the yard, watching people and dogs walk by our house, and following us everywhere we go.
Skylar is a very sweet dog who aims to please. She loves to sit with us, loves to be petted, and enjoys all the attention she can get. She even smiles! Skylar is crate trained (spending nights and times we are away in a crate), and house trained. She walks well on a leash, which seems to be a fairly new skill for her.
Skylar has always lived around other dogs, so ideally she would feel more comfortable with another dog, or with someone who is not away from her for long periods of time each day.
