Crossed to the Rainbow Bridge - 08/22/2020 - Charley [Adoptied 7/18/14] came to us from a rural shelter where he was found as a stray. Luckily the Animal Control officer called Shorewood. This community does not have an actual shelter and only can hold dogs for 7 days. He was on day 4 when we got the message. Charley is estimated to be 7-8 years old. He is a low key guy who really would prefer to sit in the house and watch TV. He did need to be neutered and have several teeth pulled. He is housetrained. Charley can be crated but it is obvious that this is new to him. He is good with other dogs but is a bit shy.
My dearest friend and companion
on August 22, 2020. Charley entered my life in 2014 after the death of my first cocker. I knew Charley and I were made for each other when as soon as Elaine brought him in my house he rolled over for a tummy rub. He stole my heart immediately. Charley was incredibly well behaved. A couch potato like me, his favorite activity was to sit on the back of his chair and bark at the squirrels and birds in our yard. We loved taking short walks together and cuddling on the sofa. He unfortunately was diagnosed with kidney disease several years ago. He stayed healthy until the last year or so, when it started to catch up with him. He lost a lot of weight and a few months ago his systems started shutting down. With a very heavy heart, i knew the time had come for him to cross over the Rainbow Bridge. Charley will be in my heart forever and I know someday we will be together again. I feel very blessed to have had him in my life.
