Passed over the Rainbow Bridge December 13, 2015

Charlie was a wonderful companion who enjoyed car rides as well as our summer fishing trips.  Although he really didn’t pay that much attention to the fish, he really did like the boat rides.  We were so pleased to see his picture on the latest edition of your calendar (January 27th) as well as ‘sister’ Penny (January, lower left corner & December, top row center).

Know that Charlie will truly be missed by all of our family members, including ‘sister’ Penny.

This handsome 4-year-boy is Charlie [ADOPTED OCTOBER 13]. He came to us as an owner surrender because his owner was moving to a building that did not allow pets. He does have a history of having seizures. His former family reported that he had not had any in 6 months. After he came into rescue he did have one several days after he was neutered. We feel that the fact that he had anesthesia and all his vaccinations all updated within a very short period contributed to this. He has not had any seizure activity since. His previous vet did not feel that seizure medication was needed. Charlie has been placed on a very high quality dog food. It specifically does not contain any of the ingredients which may contribute to seizure activity.

Charlie is a very friendly boy, who loves to be around you. He is housetrained and sleeps well in his crate, but also loves to sleep next to his foster parent's bed on a blanket or pillow. Charlie loves to play with toys, lay in the sun and is a very laid back type of guy. He also loves to go for walks, but does need some work on not tugging on the leash. He is very good in the car and likes to go for car rides. Charlie is also a good boy for baths and grooming. He does need to have his eyes wiped on a regular basis to prevent build up in the corner of his eyes. Charlie gets along well with other dogs. He has had no exposure to cats. He is a smart boy and sits and shakes for treats and will lay down on command. He would make an awesome pet for any home!
