Passed over the Rainbow Bridge 12/10/2012
Oliver (Sam), age 13, crossed over the Rainbow Bridge today, December 10, 2012. We wanted him with us one more Christmas, but that would have been selfish for it was his time to go. When Oliver stopped eating, we knew he had no quality of life left. We hope somewhere he is enjoying bread and muffin wrappers dug out of the waste paper basket. Oliver gave us 11 years of joy. He was a gentle dog that never wanted to leave our side--unless it was to forage in the compost pile. He got along well with all people, and he never met a dog he didn't like. He loved camping and got excited whenever we packed the camper for another adventure. We will miss you, Oliver, more than you will ever know.
Sam [ADOPTED MAY 5] is a 2 and a half year old, big lug of a guy and a real lover. He could probably stand to lose a few pounds. He is very laid back and does not mind the crate. He will bark at the door to let you know that he needs to go out. He gets along with all of the other dogs and loves his rawhide. He likes to scratch his bottom against the door like a bear does on a tree. It is really comical to watch. He does not jump up on me, but does jump the gates. I have not had any problem with him at all as he is so mellow.
