Crossed over the Rainbow Bridge 1-19-2020

It is with great sadness that I am writing to tell you that Stewie has passed away.  I had adopted Stewie (Stewie051 as he was listed) in April 2005, he had some health issues with his heart, but he pushed through it all for several years. On January 19th, he couldn’t fight anymore and fell asleep peacefully on his own. He would have been 16 years old yesterday. He was truly the absolute best dog in the world. The very best

Stewie [ADOPTED APRIL 15] is a 14 month old buff colored Cocker who was probably kept as an outside dog. He was found wandering the streets of Chicago severely matted, underweight and had probably never been groomed in his life. Grooming was a struggle as he prefers to hide his eyes from the clippers and blow dryer. As tough as he was to groom, we had to laugh at his antics. He was also giving kisses the entire time he was being groomed. He will be neutered shortly and brought up to date on vaccines, heartworm testing and microchipped. He is crate trained, but will need some work on his housetraining. He is an undocked male who still squats to urinate. His foster home believes that he will pick up housetraining quickly as he is eager to please and will do most anything for a treat. He is looking for a home who is willing to work with a young dog. He has lots of energy and loves to play with his foster siblings. Give him some love and a few treats and he will love you back for the rest of his life.
